This book is the story of my maternal grandfather, Gen Miki, World Champion decoy carver. A retired machinist, Gen took up carving and painting decoys and was a quick study. After a few years he was competing as an amateur in national and eventually world competitions, where he won Best in Show.
The book is a compilation of excerpts from conversations I had with my grandfather alongside beautiful photos by Josh MacDonald and Connie Tsang.
